The Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Eastern Region, Eng. Tariq bin Abdullah Al Melhem, was visited by the Environment and Food Committee at Asharqia Chamber in order to discuss the importance of enhancing cooperation to serve the business sector, which is positively reflected on the local community in the region.
The meeting was chaired by Talal bin Sulaiman Al-Rashid, the chairman of the Committee, in the presence of a number of members of the Environment and Food Committee and a number of officials in the Ministry branch.
It was held last Monday at the headquarter of the Ministry in the Eastern Region.
The meeting reviewed the services provided by the branch and its departments.
It also discussed the future directions of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in line with the national transformation program and the vision of the Kingdom 2030, and the definition of the objectives of the rural development program, which seeks to settle farmers while preserving natural resources.
The Committee also reviewed the Livestock Breeder Program.
The meeting also talked about agricultural banks and the extent of utilization of agricultural drainage water in irrigation of agricultural crops after treatment, and the impact of agricultural employment on the agricultural sector.
On the other hand, the Committee, which was chaired by Talal bin Sulaiman Al-Rashid, held an expanded meeting of the environment and food sector where he stressed the keenness of the Committee to meet with the sector's employees to discuss everything related to it.
